This page sets out the resources and training we have developed to help places make use of evidence.

To deliver improved outcomes and make best use of public funding, it’s important that policies are based on a good understanding of the problems they seek to address, and knowledge about ‘what works’ in tackling the identified issues. This involves drawing on diverse sources of evidence including national statistics, local intelligence, research, monitoring and evaluation.

Our resources and training help places use evidence to identify the strengths and weaknesses of their local economy, and design policies to improve employment, wages, and productivity in their area.
