09:15 – 10:00, Wednesday 13th November
The UK has struggled with low business investment for at least the last two decades, and the new government has made increasing investment a key part of the Growth Mission.
What is the impact of low business investment on the local economy? What are the policy levers available to local growth to address low investment? Are there elements that can make investment interventions more effective?
Join us for a 45 minute discussion on local green growth.
We’ll have two short presentations and then time for questions. Dr. Mimosa DiStefano will present on recent research as part of the Economy 2030 project on low business investment. Victoria Sutherland will give an overview around how our existing evidence resources can help think through local policy levers.
Speakers:
Victoria Sutherland, Deputy Director, Evidence, What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth
Dr. Mimosa DiStefano, Research Economist, Centre for Economic Performance, LSE
