The Government’s Cities and Local Growth Unit commissioned What Works Growth to run a series of workshops open to local and combined authorities and LEPs. The aim of each of these workshops was to support local institutions to address issues identified as new priorities as a result of the pandemic and drive the economic recovery.

This session covered the evidence on how to go about evaluation during the recovery. There were contributions from the following speakers before an opportunity for participants to discuss the issues with the speakers:

  • Professor Henry Overman, Director of the What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth
  • Rebecca Riley, Head of Research and Office of Data Analytics, West Midlands Combined Authority
