Sidharth Rony is a Research Assistant at the What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth supporting the policy evaluation team. Currently he is in the penultimate year of his PhD in Economics from Royal Holloway University of London (RHUL). His research revolves around identifying skill mismatches in the labour market that arise from technological changes – using both novel and traditional datasets. He completed doctoral coursework from the University of Zurich in Economics of Education and has a research master’s degree in economics from Maastricht University.
Before joining WWG, he worked as a research assistant in RHUL, studying public sector employment in Ghana and how it affects job creation in the private sector. He has worked as a consultant with The Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs in OECD, to support the Skill for Job team in identifying skill mismatches in OECD countries. He was also involved in multiple projects for collecting data (surveys and web scrapping) in UK and India.
