Yadira is a Research Economist at the What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth.
Her current research interests lie at the intersection of impact evaluation and policy, focusing on topics related to urban economics and economic geography. This includes studying the effects of transport policies on housing prices, labour market outcomes, spatial disparities, environmental impacts, and traffic volumes, as well as understanding the economic development implications of the distribution of people and economic activity across space.
Previously, she worked as a consultant in Colombia, where she specialised in evaluating the impact of infrastructure policies and projects at the local and regional levels, ranging from highways to urban transportation initiatives. She also led projects exploring the potential interaction between nature conservation and urban property development, aiming to provide insights for crafting land use policies that safeguard urban water resources and contribute to the long-term sustainability of cities. Yadira has also worked as a consultant in Argentina and the United States.
She is currently a PhD candidate at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
